Throughout his career, Dr. Nyakoe has served in various capacities across some of South Africa’s most respected academic hospitals. His roles have spanned from Medical Officer and Registrar at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital, and Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital between 1996 and 2003, to his current position as a leading Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. Here, he heads the Fetal Medicine Unit and manages a unit dedicated to high-risk pregnancies complicated by medical conditions, showcasing his unparalleled expertise and leadership. Between 2004 and 2006, Dr. Nyakoe also enriched his practice with experience in the private sector at Muelmed Mediclinic in Pretoria, and since 2008, he has maintained a part-time private practice at Netcare Parklane Hospital and Netcare Linksfield/Linkwood Hospitals.
Dr. Nyakoe’s clinical interests are broad yet focused, encompassing ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology, fetal anomaly scans, fetal therapy, screening for genetic abnormalities, and managing maternal diseases, preterm births, and complications arising from multiple pregnancies.
